RiRi-DT

Riboregulators and Ribomoldulators Design Tool

Description

RiRi-DT is a novel bioinformatics tool for the design of gene expression regulatory elements based on two types of small RNA:

Riboregulators, which interact directly with the target mRNA, preventing its translation.
Ribomodulators, which interact with Riboregulators to inhibit or modulate the regulatory activity of the former.

In addition, Ribomodulators are designed based on two different interaction models:
Competition model, in which the Riboregulator and Ribomodulator are designed so that their binding to the target mRNA is mutually exclusive by sharing a common region.
Sequestration model, in which the Riboregulator and Ribomodulator are designed in such a way that the interaction of the Ribomodulator-Riboregulator pair is more stable than the interaction of the Riboregulator-mRNA pair.
